Finished System Shock 2. Like it's successor Bioshock, it completely trailed off towards the end, but made up for it with the "naahhh" at the end ![]()
Definitely a fantastic game. The fact that you can't pause to do anything (hack, ruffle through inventory etc) like you can in Bioshock really adds to the tension.

I don't understand System Shock 2. I tried it a few years ago (post-Deus Ex, which might be why I didn't like it) and found myself in corridor after corridor with endlessly spawning enemies and no indication of where to go.
Still playing Company of Heroes. Occasionally messing around with Far Cry 2, another game packed with spawning enemies which I don't like, but which is pretty enough to make up for it.
Now I have another terabyte drive to fill with games i have been mostly experimenting with games I had not paid attention for sometime.
MS Flight Sim 9 - dusted down the old Logitech Exterme Joystick and crashed me a few planes
Kane and Lynch - I really had written this off as it refused to play when I had a my 9800 GX2, but plays nicely now and despite being a bit pants, I have enjoyed it and am close to finishing it
Sins of a Solar Empire - although I am a little overwhelmed/have low concentration levels and found it a bit of a daunting prospect
I played about with Sins for a bit, but after you've played a couple of maps then you've really seen pretty much all the game can offer. I enjoyed it for a bit, but quickly became bored mostly due to the aching slowness of it. Finishing off an opponent's fleet when it won't sit still is a frustrating task.
Just entered prestige mode on MW2.
MW2 on PS3 eating up my time atm. I have also just bought a new 40" lcd which coupled with my audio setup makes the whole experience immense.
Also, I bought Mass Effect and the Witcher in the steam sale, but havn't had enough time to get very far into them.
Is it me or does the Witcher feel overwhelming at times, with so many quests to do at the same time.
Stupid amounts of NFS:Shift with my new Xbox wheel.
I mean STUPID amounts. Need to finish it before I get stuck into Forza 3, as I started it and it looks amazing and play in a much more sophisticated manner.
A wheel really is the only way to play; I usually hate driving games, but have been driving for 14 years in the real world. With a wheel it's just like back in the arcades! Yay ![]()
STILL playing Dragon Age & FM10.
...also Football Director through a C64 emulator...ahhh the memories.
Still got X-Com Apocalypse, Kings Bounty Armoured Princess, Puzzle Quest Warlords & Torchlight to play. Happy days.
been getting more into Infamous.
quite good fun ![]()
There is a good mod for Medieval 2 Total War called: LOTR the Third Age Total War.
For a mod it is surprisingly good and it keeps getting regular updates. My only real gripe so far is that the battle map for Osgiliath looks nothing like how it should, I have yet to fight at Minith Tirith so will have to see if any other battle maps look like their campaign map counterparts.
There is a full SP campaign though and the races for both SP and MP are numerous and varied.
I'm going to play Thief 2 again and then I'm going to have a look at T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age.
DoW 2, A brilliant game.

Will Thief and Thief 2 work with Vista if I put it into XP or Windows 98 Compatibility mode because I would love to play them again?
Also do you have to fiddle with something (can't remeber what) to make it so it only uses one core of my CPU?

Open up the task manager, click the "Show processes from all users" button. Right click Thief2.exe and select "set affinity". then uncheck every CPU except CPU 0.
I'm not sure if you absolutely need to run it in XP or Windows 98 Compatibility mode but I usually do it anyway.

I had problems running Thief 2 (from the recently released Thief collection) when I had XP installed, so much so I didn't end up playing it. I'm sure there's a way, I just lost patience.
Thanx Ill give it a try later this week after iv finished Resi 5 ![]()
Ghostbusters. Bought it over Christmas on Steam for £5.
Was really looking forward to it on it's release but was put off by the mediocre reviews but just been playing it for the last hour and had a really good time. Well worth teh £5.
L4D2. I'm actually finding the "kicked to death by Zombie" thing harrowing. Best game I've played in a long time.
finished InFamous and decided to jump straight back into it to play through as the bad guy ![]()
Far Cry 2 . As my game time seems to be limited to about an hour every other day at most, it's perfect pick up and play - and I love the combination of Draganov and flamethrower.
Torchlight - quite enjoying it but it has crashed more than any other piece of software I have used in recent years...the first to crash on Steam I think. Beginning to annoy me!
Psychonauts. This could have been pretty good as an adventure, but as a platformer it doesn;t do it for me. Having said that, I wasn;t hugely impressed by any of the characters or the plot, up until I reached the Milkman Conspiracy, which is just superb.
Playing trough Mass Effect again before getting number 2. Can't believe how much more stuff and side plots I've come across this time. And I've just got to Feros after 30 hours of play!!
finished Infamous as evil (a lot more fun than being the good guy).
have good back to Resistance: Fall of Man as I never really got to grips with it first time I tried.
played a bit last night but not really sure if I like it as I still find using a controller for a fps difficult.
Finished Mass Effect 2 last night, enjoyed it so much, I imeditately loaded up my first play through to start a second play through on insane difficulty, its ace! Also just started assassins creed 2, which at the moment, smacks to much of the first one for my liking, but im going to stick with it a while
Just finished Assassins creed 2. Stick with it, I thought it was miles better than the first game.
Now onto Darksiders and uncharted 2. Darksiders is promising. Although I like Uncharted 2 I am not sure about the glowing 10/10 reviews. There is just something about it that I find frustrating. Fiddly controls, occasional imprecise actions. As a hollywood blockbuster it hits the right notes but as a game, to me there is just something lacking.
Also 1/3 of the way through dragon age and have to start Mass effect 2. Also thoroughly neglecting L4D2, MW2 MP and Borderlands. Oh well it's better to have too many games than too few.

Finished it myself this week; well worth £5; in no way worth full-price money on the PC. Polished and all that, but just not very long or challenging.
Started Red Faction Guerilla on the PC. Interesting idea, but much like Far Cry 2. Plus, it has a weird bug which makes it run incredibly fast on Windows7. It's like watching a silent film from 1920 except you need the reflexes of an amphetamine addict.
Completed Mass Effect on Hardcore with a Biotic girl. We pissed through the final level so much it was stoopid but we were hardcore so sod them. My girl got some lesbian action with the blue bird lolz. Quite like their romance, better than my previous bloke getting it on with the lairy Ashley bird.
Also had a versus game of L4D2 with Dave from PCZone and Ultraman (who I think is someone from here). it got close towards the end but mainly coz my gf started chatting to me and I got distracted hehehe.
Good gaming and I've got some time off next week to do even more, sweet!

I just can't get myself to carry on in ACII, I've just got my "suit" so am really early in the game, but it's so similar to the first one, which I really didn't like at all... the reviews and everyone I hear from says the same as you - stick with it and it's good. I'll give it another go.
I have the same advice for you - stick with Uncharted 2! I was playing Demon's Souls at the time, and remember thinking "meh" with uncharted 2, even up to the 6th chapter. But then the game literally grabs you by the throat and won't let go, with some fantastic action levels/platforming and set pieces that will blow any other game away. It's really good and worth bearing with, you'll see!
EDIT: I'm currently playing Darksiders, and it's really good with great zelda-esque dungeons and puzzles. Also playing Mass Effect 2 and lots of Bad Company 2 beta.

on the pc front been playing a lot of Unreal Tournament once more due to the gathering of former Truffs players.
offline I am just starting into Mass Effect.
it's one I never bothered with but all the recent hue n cry regarding ME² I thought I would find out more about it.
got ME off steam on the w/e but haven't really done much in it yet.
if I get into it I will probs get ME² possibly from steam and by then the price might have dropped a bit.
Mass Effect 2 - stellar.
Mass Effect 2. OMG!
Looks stunning, much better than ME1 on my Xbox & plays really well.
Only an hour in but this could be a truly great game.
Finished Dragon Age - absolutely brilliant.
Starting the first Baldur's Gate now & still playing FM10. Although good, I'm not getting the same enjoyment as I did with FM06. It's getting too cluttered and still has a few glitches which really should be ironed out considering how many FM's SI have done now.
playing Dirt 2 except it's more like grinding atm!
the game only has a few circuits and you just play them over and over again. such a shame coz the game starts out amazing and quickly repeats itself to death. going to complete and then wait till after the LAN party. after that it's gone . . . well maybe, it does look stunning ![]()
UFC Undisputed on the 360. Mostly because I broke my fight Night 4 disc ![]()
It's ok, but the controls can be horribly unresponsive so I've about given up on it now - great fun when you get the KO, but too many combinationsa of button presses to get more than basic kicks and punches for me, plus almost impossible to escape submissions.
RFoM is consigned to the bin.
I can see why I stopped playing it the first time round.
am now playing Metal Gear Solid 4 again.
